Start movement by placing feet solidly on platform and keeping knees slightly bent.  Back is erect and arms are straight.

Slowly bring bar to abdominal area by bending the elbows.  Keep chest up and shoulder blades tucked.  If goal of exercise is to target the lower back also, then pivot forward from the hips while keeping the chest up before pulling the bar towards abdominal area.  Return to starting position and complete required number of reps.
