Start movement by lying face down on machine.  Hold on to handles. Knees are just outside the pad not on the pad.  Feet are flat.

Slowly bring pads towards buttocks by bending the knees.  Keep hips on the pad and feet flat.  Return to starting position and complete required number of reps.
